About this event

The capability of every student to contribute positively to their own lives, the lives of those around them, and to the greater good is central to the work of The Learner First. Equity, inclusion, wellbeing and student agency are the motivating concepts for the design of this learning for teachers.

We have been working with a group of schools for the past 18 months, and we are delighted to extend an invitation to you to take part in our Community of Practice Sharing Day. The outcomes have been unequivocal in both academic progression and improved classroom and school climate and culture, and we would love to be able to share them together.

We will “Shine a Light” on the deep learning of the leaders and teachers as they have explored:

  • Shifting teacher mindsets to align with relational and contributive pedagogy
  • Deepening unit and lesson design through the lens of the students
  • Increasing student agency and voice in the co-creation of curriculum
  • Using inquiry as a core pedagogy
  • Moderating formative and Summative assessment to achieve equity in measurement
  • The power of focusing on wellbeing in improving engagement and intrinsic motivation and enhancing academic outcomes
  • Embedding equity, inclusion and wellbeing into the language and practice of teaching and learning
